Preprints and other prior publications

The Cadernos Brasileiros de Terapia Ocupacional accepts the submission of manuscripts that have been previously published as preprints, derived from theses or dissertations, or presented at conferences, provided that the conditions outlined below are met and that, in all cases, the manuscript clearly cites the original publication.

Preprints

Manuscripts submitted to reputable preprint servers are accepted prior to or in parallel with submission to the journal.
The use of preprints is the author’s choice; however, it is expected that the name of the preprint server and the respective DOI be provided through the Open Science Compliance Form.
Articles submitted to preprint servers share with journals the novelty of publication, and the review process will not follow a double-anonymous procedure, since authorship will already be known.

Theses and Dissertations
Texts derived from theses or dissertations are accepted, provided they are adapted to the scientific article format and follow the journal’s guidelines. The article will undergo the journal’s standard review process.

Conference Presentations
Manuscripts derived from papers presented at conferences, symposia, or scientific meetings may be submitted, provided they have not been fully published in conference proceedings. The article will undergo the journal’s standard review process.
